Cooking clay Pot (Bram) برام The "bram" has been the traditional clay pot of Egypt for thousands of years. Archaeological collections show that the Egyptians were the first to use pottery dishes for cooking and water keeping.It is unglazed on the outside and ceramic glazed from the inside. "Bram" comes in all shapes and sizes. Somehow, It should NOT be subjected to extreme temperature changes, such as taking it out from the refrigerator directly into a hot oven. That may cause it to crack. cooking in the "bram" makes the food more flavorful. Today, modern Egyptians commonly use it in the oven to bake vegetable and meat stews, as well as rice dishes baked in milk. By: Aida Mady
